RANK REQUIREMENTS:

Okinawan Karate of Rochester Hills accepts children and youth in our program. Youth that are training in the program and advance in age will be moved into the adult program, maintaining their current junior obi rank. All youth testing into Brown belt (2nd Kyu) levels are required to maintain current Beikoku membership. The student must have current status in the dojo to be eligible to advance to the next level and test for promotion, including current membership, knowledge and proficiency of technique, attendance, etc.

Youth that are in 1st Kyu will be eligible to begin training for their Junior Black Belt. This is a very honored and respected level of training and only the serious karate-ka (person who studies karate) are invited to be considered for this achievement. All youth considered for this level must maintain Beikoku membership from 2nd Kyu.
